The forward netted twice as Hatters destroyed play-off hopefuls Nuneaton Town 5-0 on Saturday.

That followed on from a 7-0 annihilation of Hereford United the previous weekend, while Wrexham were also put to the sword, losing 5-0 on Tuesday night.

Benson said: “We’re playing ever so well at the moment and we’re not rolling over teams who are down the bottom of the league, they’re good sides.

“If we’re playing well I don’t honestly think any team can stop us.”

Town’s forward play has been quite simply irresistible in recent weeks and Benson believes the opening goal is proving crucial.
