Robinson’s relief at Hatters switch

Striker Jake Robinson is delighted his disastrous spell at Northampton Town is over after joining Hatters on loan last week, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 25-year-old striker signed for the Cobblers from Shrewsbury last season, but has only played once this campaign after finding himself frozen out by manager Aidy Boothroyd.

Town boss Paul Buckle moved for the former Brighton striker late last week, in the knowledge that both Stuart Fleetwood and Scott Rendell were carrying injuries ahead of the Alfreton Town trip.

Meanwhile, Northampton boss Boothroyd hasn’t closed the door on Robinson’s future at Sixfields either when his loan spell is up.
