It's official: New Bedford furniture shop to open at the beginning of next month
You may remember when we told you last month that a furniture shop was moving into part of the former Beales department store.
Well, The Furniture Warehouse has just signed off on the opening date – which will be Saturday, October 3.
The Silver Street store will be the chain’s 10th – it already has others across the Midlands and East Anglia.
A spokesman for The Furniture Warehouse said: “It’s going to be one of the bigger stores in a prominent town centre venue, so we’re really looking forward to it.”
The Peterborough business began life as an online furniture retailer before expanding into physical stores and sells sofas, dining room furniture and bedroom furniture.
And it won’t be the only big furniture store with a presence in the town centre. A year ago, Furniture Outlet left its tiny shop in Lurke Street and expanded to the ground floor of the former Wilko in the High Street.
