Hatters goalkeeper Mark Tyler believed winning the Skrill Premier title was for the club’s long suffering fans.

The Luton supporters, who saw their Football League status taken away after being deducted 30 points by the FA, witnessed their side finally end a five-year hiatus and lift the trophy at a packed Kenilworth Road on Monday.

Tyler said: “It’s not for us really, it’s for the fans, they’re back where they belong now.

“Tthe gaffer (John Still) has come here and installed the belief and winning mentality in us.

“We’ve played really well and got our reward in the end.

“It’s just nice to see everyone at the club all pushing in the right direction and finally getting the reward we
wanted.”

The decision to appoint Still in February of last year has turned out to be a masterstroke by the Hatters board.

The former Dagenham & Redbridge boss has now won the Conference three times and Tyler felt part of his secret was keeping a settled side.
