Winger Dave Martin has credited Town manager John Still for bringing the best out of him since taking over at Kenilworth Road, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 28-year-old put pen to paper on a new contract extension on Tuesday, which will now see his deal run to the summer of 2015.

Martin had been in flying form towards the end of the campaign, scoring three times, and believes his upsurge had been down to Still.

The former Southend and Millwall man said: “For me personally, the last couple of years has been a real torrid time.

“Since I’ve signed for Luton, I’ve got my confidence back. Towards the end of the season, I showed what I was doing when I had my spells at Millwall.

“It just needed to be found again and I definitely think John Still has got it out of me.”

Martin had been talking over a new deal with the club prior to the end of the campaign and is now hoping he will enjoy promotion back into the Football League during his time with Town.
