Sitting on the sidelines, Anthony Charles has been amazed by how quickly the season’s flown by, writes Mark Wood.

The 32-year-old defender made only his second start for the Hatters at the weekend as they battled to a 1-0 victory over Woking in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup. Having missed much of pre-season, a shoulder injury in the 2-0 home win over Salisbury City in mid-August saw him ruled out for several weeks.

He said: “It’s not frustrating, it’s just how quickly the games have gone. You wait on the outside and you’ve been out for six weeks and suddenly 15 games have past and you’re back in and you have to sit and wait for a couple more.”
