Out of contract at the end of the season, the young centre back has been linked with ‘long-term admirers’ Bournemouth, Championship sides Charlton and Millwall plus League One Peterborough.

Lacey said: “I’m very happy here. I’ve been delighted with the way things have been going and playing 19 games before Christmas I couldn’t be happier.

“I wouldn’t think about anything else rather than being a Luton player at the minute.”

On whether there’d been any discussions over a new deal, the 20-year-old said: “Not really, hopefully when I come back from injury I can keep going and work on it.”
