Gray fit but Buckle faces keeper decision

The forward was withdrawn during the first half of last weekend’s 2-1 FA Trophy win over Matlock with what was revealed to be a tight calf.

When asked if he was available for selection though, Town boss Buckle said: “Yes, that’s a big plus, I think Andre is going to be fine.”

The manager does face a more difficult decision on who to play in goal against the Bucks as Dean Brill came in for the Trophy tie after Mark Tyler conceded five in his last outing.

Buckle continued: “The outfield 10 has changed throughout the season and I’ve got two good goalkeepers at the club.

“If Mark needs a rest or needs to come out, we know we’ve got Dean and Dean’s done a great job.

“Last week was a mixture of the two. Mark needed a rest and Dean was good enough and after letting in a few goals the week before, I had to be fair, so I was fair and I thought he did a very good job,

“It’s a tough choice to make on that.”

Saturday’s match is the first in four games in 11 days during a hectic festive period for Town. Although on paper, trips to Telford, plus home games against Woking and Ebbsfleet, before a visit to Woking appear winnable, Buckle was swift to guard against complacency.

He said: “You can’t judge anything. It’s a dangerous game if you start devaluing anyone.

“We certainly won’t do that ever, I think I’ve always told you all, it’s a tough league.

“There’s a lot of good managers, good teams, if it was easy we wouldn’t be in non-league, we’d be in the league by now.

“It really hard, this is no different and they gave us a tough game at Kenilworth Road.

“We’re way from home, we’ve got to go there and dig in first and foremost and then try and open them up. We’ve scored goals this season and what we’ve got to try and do is keep a clean sheet.”

Telford boss Andy Sinton recently claimed he needs to eradicate a ‘poison and cancer’ within the Bucks dressing room, but it was something Buckle claimed he hadn’t been aware of.

He continued: “I concentrate on what we’ve got here. I don’t really look at papers, websites or what’s going on in anyone’s dressing room, I’ve got enough on my plate in my one.

“It’s a tough game when we turn up home or away, nothing will be new there. It’s about us going to Telford and going for the win as usual. We don’t feel we have to change it a great deal, just be positive and go to win the game.”
