County claim comfortable Worcestershire win

Bedfordshire U14s enjoyed a 43 run victory over Worcestershire at Clifton CC on Sunday, leaving them top of the ECB U14 County Cup Group Two table.

A superb opening partnership of 74 between Bedford CC batsman Navin Chouda (29) and Eversholt’s Ben Clarke (44) laid the foundations for Beds to reach 182-6 from 45 overs.

They were well backed up by Ajay Singh-Momi (Harrold CC) who was undefeated on 41, while Callum Riches (Ampthill Town CC) added 22 with two fours and one six. Mohammed Essa (Luton Town & Indians CC) struck early in Worcestershire’s reply, removing Oliver Westbury, before Harrold bowler Samuel Rawes (3-19) and Luton Town & Indians’ Razaullah Khan (3-14) ripped through their opponents middle order. Luton Town & Indians’ Khuram Farooq (1-24) and Dunstable bowler Mahesh Godhania (1-18) both claimed a wicket apiece as Worcs were all out for 139 in the 42nd over.

Beds travel to Staffordshire on Sunday.
