It includes a two minutes’ silence at 11am and will be followed by the laying of wreaths at the memorial, during which Beethoven’s Funeral March No 1 will be played.

The council has asked members of the public to keep the entrance to the memorial clear to enable easy access and egress by the dignitaries, clergy, standards and veterans, and to enable younger participants in the parade to move to the front and have an uninterrupted view of the service.

A separate Armistice Day Commemoration is taking place on Wednesday, November 11 at Harpur Square in Bedford from 10.30am.
