Robbery suspect found hiding in loft during armed police arrest in Bedford
A suspect wanted in connection with two knifepoint robberies in Bedford was found hiding in a loft after armed police arrived to arrest him.
Bedfordshire Police said officers attended a property in Attadale Walk on October 17, following two incidents at another address in the same street on October 13 and 16.
According to the force, the suspect heard officers calling out and attempted to evade arrest by hiding in the loft.
However, officers located him and he was taken into custody.
In a Facebook post, Bedfordshire Police joked that the loft insulation may have provided a more comfortable bed than the custody cell where the suspect spent the night.
Police confirmed that the suspect has since been charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article.
