Scam warning as fraudsters impersonate Bedford Christmas Market workers
Bedford council is urging people to remain vigilant following the latest email scam doing the rounds.
A number of fraudulent emails are circulating about Bedford Christmas Market but they are not from Bedford Markets.
In a post on social media, Bedford Borough Council said: “Please be aware the only official email address for Bedford Markets is [email protected].
“We are not operating an online booking system. Do not book or make any payments through links in these emails. Do not click on any links, open attachments or provide personal or payment details if you receive a suspicious email.
“If you receive one of these emails, please ignore it and do not respond. Please share this warning to help protect other traders and businesses from falling victim to this scam.”
It follows on from another scam warning from the police earlier this month.
Several members of the public had received scam calls from people claiming to be from Beds Police.
