McKenzie-Lowe strikes to earn Eagles a point

Bedford Town managed to grab a share of the spoils after half-time tactical changes turned the tables on fellow mid-table side Kidlington on Saturday.

The hard-charging Oxfordshire outfit came into this battle in good form having won six in a row as both sides looked to close the gap on AFC Dunstable in fifth.

Boss Jon Taylor’s tactical changes at half-time put Bedford on top in the second period after they were the poorer side in the opening 45 minutes.

Eric Odhiambo hit the Bedford crossbar with a curling shot in the 22nd minute before his brother Anaclet put Kidlington ahead 10 minutes later with his 25th goal of the campaign.

Mark Janes then saw his shot brilliantly saved by Town keeper Enol Ordonez-Suarez just before the break.

Bedford equalised in a more up tempo second-half through Jemale McKenzie-Lowe just two minutes after the restart.

Anaclet had the ball in the net again in the 70th minute but it was ruled offside.

The hard-earned point leaves Bedford in ninth place in the Division One Central table. They have a good chance to gain ground in the next fortnight when they host seventh-placed Egham Town this Saturday (3pm) before travelling to Hertfordshire the following weekend to take on eighth-placed Potters Bar Town.
