Spiller edging close to Town return?

Shock therapy has helped long-term Hatters casualty Danny Spiller back to the brink of a return to training, writes Mark Wood.

The 31-year-old is yet to play a first team game for the Hatters, but boss Paul Buckle is hopeful he is just a couple of weeks away after undergoing the innovative treatment.

Spiller tweeted last Wednesday: “If I’m honest I’m not looking forward to this shock therapy... #BrutalTreatment.”

The midfielder’s achilles injury has limited him to just two development games since signing from Gillingham in the summer.

Spiller played 22 minutes as a substitute against a Charlton XI before starting against his former side last month when the same injury forced him off midway through the first half.

Buckle added: “He is a couple of weeks away, we are hopeful to see him soon. I’ve not got involved in the treatement side of things, it’s Simon’s (Parsell) domain.”
