Osano keen to focus after Rushden heartbreak

ON-FIRE full-back Curtis Osano is looking to put his play-off woe behind him when the Hatters take on Wrexham in this season’s semi-finals, writes Mark Wood.

The Kenyan has flourished under new boss Paul Buckle, putting in star performances in all of Town’s last three games, including the weekend’s 2-0 win over champions Fleetwood.

Having experienced the misery of semi-final defeat while at Rushden & Diamonds he is doubly motivated to make a success of it this time around.

Osano said: “Under Justin Edinburgh at Rushden we made the play-offs as we got knocked out against York the season before.

“That’s the worst game I’ve ever felt. You lose a game like that and you know what it’s cost you but you can hear them celebrating.

“It’s bad enough losing any game, but that feeling that you could have got somewhere and the other team are laughing and celebrating.

“It leaves a memory in your head and that’s one memory I don’t want to relive again.”
