Kissock hoping for Wealdstone tie

HATTERS midfielder John Paul Kissock is hoping his side are pitted again Ryman Premier Division Wealdstone in tomorrow morning’s FA Trophy semi-final draw, writes Mike Simmonds.

The Stones, who are 11th in the table, were surprise 2-1 winners over Cambridge United, to join York City and Newport County as the last four.

When asked if he would prefer Wealdstone, Kissock, who opened his account in the 2-0 victory over Gateshead, said: “Hopefully, it’s the easy one to get to Wembley and then hopefully we can get there and it will be a great day for everyone, but it’s the semi-final first.”

Boss Gary Brabin wasn’t fussed about the opposition though as he said: “Yes I’ll look at the draw on Monday, but I’m more excited about getting back in with the lads and starting to prepare ourselves right for the next match.”

With Town in Trophy action on Saturday, they saw the gap to leaders Fleetwood widen to a massive 17 points afte the Cod Army cruised past Alreton 4-0.

Kissock has now all but accepted the play-offs too as he added: “It’s in Fleetwood’s hands now. It’s a very, very tough league, there are some great teams.

“I’ve played in the league and played in Scotland. It’s no different to the Conference and to get out of this league is very difficult.

“The lads have given everything every week, we need to get behind each other and look to make the play-offs now.”
