Hatters want to follow Crawley example

HATTERS boss Gary Brabin admitted he would love to follow Crawley Town’s lead from last season by tasting success in both league and cup, writes Mark Wood.

The Red Devils won promotion from the Conference last term as well as claiming a money-spinning trip to Old Trafford in the FA Cup where they faced giants Manchester united.

Speaking at today’s press conference manager Gary Brabin said: “They did really well in the cup and league last season and they’ve gone from strength-to-strength this year and are topping the league above.

“They’ve shown it can be done and teams in the past as well.

“We would all love it if we could say Luton are going to play Man U this year.

“I’m very traditional about it, I’m a big follower of the FA Cup and would like us to have a good run in it.

“Saturday’s the first hurdle in overcoming that.

“We’ve just go to focus on this group of players and get them all back up to speed and they can go from strength-to-strength.”

But he refused to underestimate the challenge of Isthmian League Premier Division high-flyers Hendon who come to town in the fourth round qualifying of the FA Cup tomorrow.

Brabin added: “We’ve had them watched the last few games. They were top of their league two weeks ago.

“We’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves again, get the best group of players out there on the pitch and perform to the best of our ability and we are more than a match for anyone.

“I think everyone raises their games to us every week. Saturday’s not going to be any different.

“We will just focus on ourselves and make sure we do the right things day in day out.”
