Brabin targets are top class strikers

LOAN strikers could well become an option for the Hatters if they fail to land their main transfer targets, writes Mark Wood.

Town have so far had bids rejected for Oxford’s James Constable, Gateshead’s Jon Shaw and Forest Green’s Reece Styche, and while boss Gary Brabin hasn’t given up hope of landing someone on a permanent basis, he does have contingency plans.

Messageboards have been rife with rumours of Charlton target man Paul Benson being a potential target and Brabin refused to rule it out at Friday’s press conference.

He said: “There’s players that are getting mentioned left, right and centre, some of them are true some of them aren’t. He’s certainly a player we’d be interested in. He’s a good calibre and they’re the kind of strikers we’re looking for.”
