New 40mph speed limit to be introduced on B530 just outside of Bedford
It looks like the B530 Ampthill Road at Houghton Conquest could be getting a new 40mph speed limit.
Central Beds Council plans to introduce the restrictions in response to a raft of changes nearby.
A new roundabout is being constructed as well as a shared-use pedestrian and cycle path, and neighbouring residential development.
The council plans to introduce the speed limit on the following length of road in Houghton Conquest:

>Ampthill Road, from a point approx 212 metres southwest of a point in line with the common property boundary between number 1 and number 2 Ampthill Road and extending in a north-easterly direction for approx 298 metres up to the roundabout junction with Turvey Road
>Ampthill Road, from the roundabout junction with Turvey Road and extending in a northerly direction for approx 401 metres
>Turvey Road, from the roundabout junction with Ampthill Road and extending in an easterly direction for approx 29 metres
