More parking spaces out of action at Bedford Hospital as temporary unit installed near A&E
From now right up until March 2027, some car parking spaces will be unavailable near the emergency department.
This is because a new large temporary Vanguard unit was delivered over the weekend.
Current decontamination services will be relocated there while essential washers are replaced.
The temporary unit will remain onsite until March next year. During this time, a number of public parking spaces will be unavailable.
And it’s not the only disruption for patients and visitors. Back in August we revealed how the majority of public car parking spaces would be out of action on Rye Close until summer 2027.
That closure is so two new theatres can be created onsite, including a new dedicated maternity theatre.
