Market cancelled as yellow weather warning issued for Bedford
Bedford’s Friday market has been cancelled due to forecasts of high winds on the back of Storm Austen.
The storm is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain to parts of the country, with Bedford covered by a yellow weather warning.
A statement issued by Bedford Market on social media says: “Due to forecasted high winds in the Bedford area, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Bedford Friday market tomorrow.
“The safety and well-being of our traders and customers is our top priority, and based on the Met Office UK's weather predict in everyone’s best interest. We apologise for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause.
“As there are two storms in two days targeting UK, please stay safe and we will have an update tomorrow regarding our Saturday Market and Sunday Kempston craft market.”
