“The whole process has been seven months in the making since the first trial was in March until this history-making moment in October. It’s an absolute honour and a pleasure to work with such dedicated staff, players, and supporters who have supported each other so much and I’m so excited to go toe-to-toe with the great again in two years’ time.”

President of the Great Britain Minifootball Union, Mark Staines, added: “In all my time in Minifootball, which totals 30 years, witnessing first hand the Lionesses win a medal will live long in the memory for me. These girls are a special bunch of players and the bravery and courage shown when the pressure was on, was immense, I couldn’t be any prouder of everyone involved, they did their country proud.”
