Students from twinned village in the West Bank visit Bedford for first time

Bedford Friends of Al Walaja near Jerusalem and Bethlehem are welcoming the university students as part of larger visit to the UK

The village's council leader, Khader Alaraj, and the two university students will visit a whole host of university towns and cities, building links between Palestinian and UK students under the title Palestinian Voices Matter: Students Together 2020.

Events taking place in Bedford include a free public meeting on Sunday, February 2 at 6pm in the Friends Meeting House, in Lansdowne Road.

The students will give presentations about their lives under occupation.

They will also visit Biddenham International School, the Bedford campus of the University of Bedfordshire and Cranfield University.
