Poundland to open 10 new stores in time for Christmas - and Bedford is one of them

Poundland is opening 10 new stores in the run-up to Christmas - and one of them is earmarked for Bedford.

We clearly love a bargain as Poundland already boasts two stores in Bedford - one in The Howard Centre and another in Harpur Street.

But the shiny new store - at Bedford Interchange Retail Park - will be 8,915 sq ft with a staff of 26.

It one of the first to be confirmed as Poundland prepares to open 45 new stores over the next 12 months in an investment of more than £15million.

News of the new stores comes as a Channel 4 TV documentary, Inside Poundland: Secrets from the Shop Floor, is due to air next month following Poundland’s transformation plans including new stores, relocations, refits and extended ranges.

The new Bedford store will stock PEP&CO clothing and homeware as well as chilled and frozen food.

Mark it in your calendars - the shop opens on November 21.
