Keech Hospice  is working with solicitors across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes to give local people the opportunity to make or update their Will. Instead of paying the solicitor’s usual Will-writing fee, those participating will be invited to make a donation to Keech Hospice instead.

Appointments are limited, and anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to register their interest now.

The risks of not having a Will in place
A 2025 Law Society survey found that 52% of the adults polled, aged 30+, do not have a Will in place. When someone dies without one, the law decides where their money goes, not the individual themselves or their families.

Stef Cuff, Gifts in Wills Partner at Keech Hospice, said: “Making or updating your Will is an important step in putting your affairs in order and making your wishes clear. We’re encouraging local people to take the opportunity to make or update theirs through Make A Will Month. And by making a donation to Keech Hospice instead of paying the usual solicitor’s fee, they can help us continue providing vital hospice care to local families.”

For Keech Hospice, gifts left in Wills are an important source of income, helping the charity continue providing specialist hospice care and support to adults and children and their families across the region. Currently, one in five people cared for by Keech is supported by gifts in Wills.

There is absolutely no obligation to include a gift to Keech, but any gift, no matter the size, can help ensure local families receive the care they need in the future.

Keech calls on local solicitors to get involved
Solicitors across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes interested in getting involved with Keech’s Make A Will Month campaign are invited to get in touch with the charity to find out more about becoming a participating firm.

How to get involved
People interested in making or updating their Will as part of Keech Hospice’s Make A Will Month can register their interest for an appointment in February 2027 on Keech’s website.

Keech is also offering a free Gifts in Wills Guide on the website for anyone who would like to learn more about legacy giving and the difference a gift in a Will can make.
