How one Bedford musician is bringing the festival feel to The Place Theatre
Fancy a full music festival experience without the huge price tag? Well Bedford’s Tom Korni has promised that with bells on at The Place Theatre next Saturday (July 25).
Tom has gained a following as a one man band who takes any genre of song and recreates it using his feet to play a drum kit, and his hands to play guitar and bass – all while singing.
And that talent will be displayed at The Place Theatre – the place to be for lovers of live music and anyone looking to enjoy a big Saturday night out in town.
A home-grown talent, Tom’s performance will create the sound of a five-piece band while playing instruments simultaneously including guitar, bass, synths, drums, and vocals all at once. No backing tracks, no loop pedals – just one musician creating a huge live sound in real time.

The 'The One Man Festival', show is a solo BedFringe performance that will be creating ‘proper music festival vibes’ with three different shows performed in two hours.
Tom has been described as the 'highlight' of 'Bestival 2015' (Skiddle), winner of "Cambridge has Talent" and "Cambridge Street Performers and Buskers Festival" 2014 & 2015.
He was also winner of U18s 'Cambridge Band Competition' 2016, winner of the 'Kimberley Rew Songwriters Award' and winner of the 'Should Be On Vinyl Award'.
Tom said: “This completely one man show will kick with a set from 'Slowfade', my project where I release original music, playing released and unreleased songs, followed by a set of classic 60's and 70's psychedelia, as well as some classics from the likes of David Bowie, Bob Marley, and Black Sabbath. The final set will be a huge 90's Britpop and 00's Indie Party, seeing the likes of Stone Roses, Oasis, Blur, Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, The Strokes and more.
“I've been performing in Bedford and around the UK since I was 14, and this will be a really great show to celebrate local art and music as well as a great night out for people of all ages.
"Over the years I have played big stages like Bestival, Camp Bestival, Canary Wharf, The Troxy, The Junction, Cambridge Big Weekend, The Horn, and sold out The Stables, as well as performing at huge private parties, esteemed corporate events, and luxury weddings – all playing a mix of original songs and covers.”
Doors open at 7.30pm, book tickets here.
