Magpies remain confident over Hatters clash

Dorchester Town insist they are ‘very confident’ tonight’s rearranged FA Trophy first round clash with Luton Town will go ahead, writes Mike Simmonds.

The match was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch, but press officer David Martin told the News/Gazette: “We are very confident. The pitch has dried out and is now normal, while there is no rain forecast.”

Meanwhile, Magpies boss Phil Simkin is aware his side will be facing an unknown quantity this evening, especially with both teams set to clash again on Saturday in the FA Cup.

He added: “Paul Buckle has got a lot of players up there, so it is difficult to know exactly what we are going to be facing.

“We have done a lot of work on them and have a good idea of how they like to set up but we are not going to know their line-up until an hour before kick-off.

“That makes them a bit of an unknown quantity but we also have several options ourselves and can change our shape during the game rather than waiting for half-time.

“We have done a lot of work on that and if we have to we will.”
