Kissock sets England and Luton target

HATTERS midfielder John Paul Kissock is hoping that an extended run in the Luton Town side will lead to further England C experiences after making his debut against Gibraltar last week, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 21-year-old played the first 45 minutes as England C went down 3-1 and was told by manager Paul Fairclough, that club performances are all that matters.

Kissock has made just five starts since signing for Luton and was back in his familiar role as a substitute at Cambridge United on Saturday despite starting the previous week against Northampton.

He said: “He (Fairclough) said to the whole group that it is based on form. He picks on performances at club level, so we just have to go back and work hard.

“I didn’t think I was great against Northampton but we got the result. Hopefully I can get a run of games, get a little bit of match sharpness and kick on from there.”
