The 25-year-old spent four seasons at Falkirk, finishing as leading scorer in the 2010-11 campaign with 17 goals, before spells at Bradford City, Hamilton and Dundee recently.

Stewart joined Luton on their training camp in Portugal this week, where he has caught the eye of the Town manager.

Still said: “He’s been very good. He’s looked very sharp and trained very hard.”

It might not be that Stewart is the only player trying to win himself a contract when Luton visit their Blue Square Bet South opposition at the weekend, travel to Biggleswade in the Beds Premier Cup on Monday and then visit Hitchin Town on Tuesday night as the Town chief confirmed there would be one or two players he would be running the rule over.
