Hereford boss Martin Foyle is hoping to get the most out of attacker Dan Walker following his move from Luton.

On the 23-year-old who has been handed a one-year deal, Foyle said: “I’ve been interested in Dan for a while, we’ve been watching him and tried to bring him in on loan last season.

“He’s a skilful player who can play in attack or out wide, he’s got a lot of pace and an eye for goal.

“He was unlucky at Luton, they had a large squad and he never had the chance to break into the starting line up on a regular basis.

“I’ve bought him here to give him that chance to prove himself, to give him a chance of playing regular first team football. He’s got a good attitude and I’m looking forward to seeing an exciting player with loads to prove.”

Having only played 36 times for the Hatters during his three years at the club, Walker is determined to make an impact at Edgar Street.

He added: “I never really had the chance to get a regular place in the starting 11.

“I spent my first season on the bench a lot of the time, my second season I had an injury and needed an operation and last season was pretty similar to my first.

“I’m really pleased to be coming to Hereford, I want to make a place in the starting 11 my own. Martin did a really good job here last season, and he’s said he wants to push on and have an even better season this year.

“I’ve signed because Martin is a good manager, he’s shown faith in me to bring me in and I want to repay him for that.

“This is a big year for me, I want to prove that I can get 40 games under my belt and I want to get as many goals as I can.”
