Ampthill's unbeaten start continues following six-goal thriller
Ampthill Town's amazing unbeaten start to the SSML Division One season continued on Saturday but they had to share the points following a 3-3 draw with neighbours Cranfield United.
On a day of heavy rain, there was also a downpour of goals in a see-saw battle with three strikes coming in the final 15 minutes of the contest, the hosts grabbing a late leveller.

The Cranes stunned their hosts in the fifth minute when Toby Starling crossed for Jim Elkington-Soan to beat Noah Vaughan and open the scoring.
Ampthill restored parity on 20 minutes when Jake Kissideu played in Kelvin Osei-Addo, who fired home as United waited for an offside flag that never came.
Phil Draycott saw a free-kick tipped away, but he was on hand to make it 2-1 to Ampthill just before the break when the Cranes failed to clear a corner.
With the rain persisting in the second period, the hosts looked to add to their tally, Joe Hankins seeing a shot saved and Osei-Addo’s drive deflected for a corner.
The Cranes pushed Town back as the minutes ticked away, Dave Byass levelling, before Sam Moore stole in to add a third in the dying minutes.
However, deep into injury time Charlie Mallett rescued a point for Town when he burst through and crashed the equaliser past Micky Ibbeson.
Ampthill host Haverhill Rovers in the FA Vase second round this weekend, while Cranfield host Buckingham in the league.
