A teenager has died after her car crashed into a tree on Sunday night.

The only occupant – a female in her late teens – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident took place in Sheep Lane, Woburn, at around 11pm on Sunday (September 13).

Anyone with info should call police on 101 or report it online, quoting Operation Herring. The car was a white fiat 500.

Detective Constable Lotty Lewis, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident in which a young woman sadly died. I would like to pay tribute to the emergency services who attended the incident and carried out extensive lifesaving efforts.

“Whilst there are no known witnesses to the collision, there might have been passing vehicles post-collision whose dash cameras captured something, even if the driver and occupants did not notice the vehicle off the road. Any information may help us to establish what caused this incident to occur.”
