Month of overnight road closures at Bedford's Greyfriars

The road will be closed from 9pm to 5am from September 27 to October 28, for works including resurfacing and road markings.

It’s part of a wider council project to transform the Greyfriars area, which includes reducing the size of the road, building new homes at the former police station site, and enhancing pedestrian and cycling infrastructure at the junction.

The council says the works will take place overnight to minimise disruption wherever possible. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times, although temporary walkways or short diversions may be in place.
