Level crossing roads in Millbrook and Lidlington to temporarily shut for inspections
If you’re heading out to Central Beds, be warned as three roads will be temporarily closed.
The first closure order affects 20 metres either side of the level crossing in Station Lane, Millbrook, and it’s for utility and drainage survey works.
This section of the road will be shut from September 30 and October 1 between 9.30pm and 5am.
The alternative route is via Station Lane, Sandhill Close, Houghton Lane, Millbrook Road, Ampthill Road, Woburn Road, Bedford Road, Woburn Road, Beancroft Road, Bedford Road, Station Road, Station Lane and vice versa.
Not to be outdone, two Lidlington roads at the level crossing will be closed again.
First up is Marston Road, Lidlington, which will be closed 20m either side of the level crossing from 11pm on September 19 to 11am on September 20.
This is for the annual inspection and a re-rail.
The alternative route is via Marston Road, The Lane, Church Street, Station Road, Sheeptick End, Bedford Road, Woburn Road, Beancroft Road, Bedford Road, Station Road, Marston Road and vice versa.
Next up, there’s another closure order 20m either side of the level crossing at Station Road, Lidlington, for re-railing and the annual level crossing inspection.
The works are due to take place from October 3 and 4 between 11pm to 11am.
The alternative route is via Church Street, Marston Road, Lidlington and then on to Station Road, Bedford Road, Beancroft Road, Marston bypass, Marston Moretaine and then on to Woburn Road, Bedford Road, Sheeptick End, Station Road, Lidlington and vice versa.
