They’re coming to Our House: Madness to headline music festival at Bedford Park next year

Madness have been announced as the first headline act for a music festival in Bedford next year.

The London-based ska and pop band, fronted by Suggs, is performing at Live at Bedford Park on Friday July 2, 2027.

The band, whose songs spent more than 200 weeks on the UK singles chart during the 1980s, are the first performers revealed for the four-day Live at Bedford Park concert series, which runs from July 1 to 4 next year.

Madness, who topped the UK charts in 1982 with the song House of Fun, will be supported in Bedford by Scouting for Girls, an English pop rock band who topped the charts for two weeks in 2010 with This Ain’t a Love Song.

Speaking following the announcement promoter Mark Harrison said: “After many years of chasing Madness, we have now confirmed this iconic band for Live in Bedford Park 2027.

“For at least the last ten years, this is one act I’ve been continually asked to secure for Bedford.

“It will be a fantastic concert with lots of Bedfordshire and nationwide fans attending.

“Madness are an iconic British band with an incredible catalogue of songs and a reputation for putting on one of the most energetic live shows around.

“We can't wait to welcome them and their incredible support act Scouting For Girls to Bedford Park and we're looking forward to revealing more of the 2027 concert series very soon."

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday September 25 and you can sign up for presale access through the event’s website.
