Captain Sir Tom Moore's daughter has revealed she hid the online trolling the family received from her father.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, she revealed it would have broken her father's heart if he had been told.

Hannah Ingram-Moore said it would have been hard to rationalise to someone who had done so much good about a "vile minority".

It comes after a 35-year-old man was charged after allegedly posting an offensive Tweet about the Second World War veteran.

Captain Sir Tom Moore raised more than £32million during the first coronavirus lockdown for the NHS by walking laps around his garden in Marston Moretaine. He had initially started his fundraising campaign to raise £1,000 for the NHS.

The 100 year old died in Bedford Hospital two weeks ago after testing positive for Covid-19.

Ms Ingram-Moore also revealed in the interview how her father spoke about wanting steak and chips when he was discharged from hospital.
