Captain Tom's family are calling on the public to do their bit for charity as a way to honour his legacy.

Revealed today (Tuesday, April 6) on his official Twitter account, the event is called #CaptainTom100 and you are invited to do anything - whether its baking, swimming, walking or cycling - 100 times and donate the proceeds to a charity of your choice.

The fundraising challenge - which has been endorsed by the likes of Judi Dench, David Beckham and Mary Berry - will take place between April 30 and May 3.

Daughter Hannah said: "Together, we can continue what my father started."

You just need to do the challenge and post it with the hashtag #CaptainTom100

Captain Sir Tom raised almost £33million for NHS charities last year by walking 100 laps of his garden in Marston Moretaine ahead of his 100th birthday. He died at Bedford Hospital on February 2 after testing positive for Covid-19.
