Calendar girls strip off for Stagsden charity fundraiser
A dog groomer and pet photographer from Stagsden has laid all bare by creating a second charity calendar with volunteers stripping off to help raise cash for good causes.
Alison Wilkerson, who runs Paw Traits Pet Grooming and Photography, recruited volunteers to ‘bare all’ for the fun charity calendar raising awareness for women’s health.
The calendar features volunteers who willingly posed for the photoshoot with funds going to Bedford Women’s Refuge, Bosom Pals Bedford & Keech Hospice.
It was created following the success of the project in aid of men’s health charities which featured photos of local lads, residents, friends and even her husband David who willingly posed for the photoshoot.
Photographs for the new calendar similarly took place in and around the village with the models stripping off in the kitchen, the great outdoors in scenic woods and with horses and behind some strategically placed delicious looking cup cakes.
Alison, who has just completed calendar girls charity calendar said: “The wait is over. Having already completed a boys’ version … our ladies have bared all and their charity calendar girls calendar in aid of Bedford Women's Centre, Bosom Pals Bedford and Keech Hospice is now available, so funds are going to some amazing causes.”
Alison describes herself as a passionate pet groomer with her High Street based business offering one-to-one appointments to ensure a calm, relaxing and stress-free pampering/studio photo shoot experience for pets.
Having trained at the College of Animal Welfare she also describes herself as an animal ‘nut’, someone who adores dogs but is also referred to as a ‘crazy cat lady’ and ‘mad as a hatter’, which she considers a compliment.
Alison is also an author having written a children's book, The Adventures of Tabby Cat (The Rescue Cat) and also writes a monthly article "Pets on the Cut", for the national Towpath Talk newspaper and is proud to announce she’s a finalist in the The UK Small Business Awards, Best Community Contribution category for 2026.
