Man dies near Bedfordshire junction in M1 collision

A man has died in a collision on the M1, just after junction 13.

At around 4.20pm yesteday (August 14) police received reports of a collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a blue Citroen Saxo on the northbound carriageway.

The man who was driving the Citreon Saxo, was in his 80s, and was taken to hospital, however was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to it to get in touch.
