Man tried to lure child out of house in village near Bedford

A man tried to lure a child out of their house as they looked out of their bedroom window.

Police were called to a house in Carmichael Drive, Shortstown at 11pm after a reports of a man shouting and beckoning to a young child.

According to one witness, the man was even using sweets to get them to come outside.

The man, who was described as black and driving a small black car, left the scene before an older sibling could alert the parents.

Two officers attended, but couldn't find the man in the area.
