Beds' top cop welcomes new commissioner

Bedfordshire's Chief Constable is 'looking forward' to working with newly-elected Police and Crime Commissioner Kathryn Holloway.

Chief Constable Jon Boutcher said: “I am delighted to welcome Kathryn into the role of Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire.

“It is the Commissioner’s role to hold me accountable for the benefit of Bedfordshire residents, to ensure the force meets their needs as efficiently as possible and I welcome that scrutiny.”

He continued: “It is a privilege to be the Chief Constable of this force and I am very much looking forward to working with Kathryn.

“We still have much to do to bring our communities ever closer with the force and to continue the improvements that have been recognised in delivering the best possible service we can to residents and visitors to Bedfordshire.”

Ms Holloway picked up 51.57 per cent of last Thursday’s votes,to take the role from former PCC, Olly Martins, who received 48.43 per cent of the votes.
