The Bedford Arms is hoping to make a tweak to its premises licence.

The High Street village boozer is hoping the council’s licensing authority will approve its plan to expand its offering, meaning people can drink outside.

The pub opens between 10am and 10pm Monday to Thursday; from 10am to 11pm on Fridays; between 9.30am and 11pm every Saturday; and from 9.30am and 9pm on a Sunday – and there’s no plans for that to change.

According to the public notice on our online portal: “No change is sought to the licensable activities, conditions or licensing hours already authorised, which will continue to apply to the extended area.”

But the pub wants to “extend the licensable area to include the external areas of the premises.”

If you want to have your say, you can write to the Licensing Authority, Bedford Borough Council, Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford MK42 9AP specifying the grounds for making representations.

And you’ve got until September 18.
