Best large back garden 2012

Malcolm Abrey and his wife Valerie picked up the Best Large Back Garden prize after years of hard work and dedication at their home in Beeston.

The couple, who have lived in The Knolls for 10 years have been keen gardeners for most of their lives.

Malcolm, who is originally from Zimbabwe, said: “We spend a lot of our leisure time in the garden, it’s something we have enjoyed as a couple for a long time.

“We just love nature and being outside, especially in the warm weather.”

The runners-up in the Best Large Back Garden category are Sarah Wady of Phillpotts Avenue, Bedford and Mr and Mrs Jeffrey of Brookfields, Pavenham.

The competition has been a successful one for Valerie, who was also a runner-up in the Best Small Front Garden category.
