As of Thursday (October 27), Bedford has recorded 114 cases since last Thursday, with a total of 69,828 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England

Central Bedfordshire recorded 199 cases, with a new total of 107,047, while Luton has 126, taking the total to 80,321.

And with Bedford recording 114 cases – that averages at over 16 cases a day.

Since last Thursday, there have been three deaths in Bedford (696), four in Luton (760), and two in Central Bedfordshire (869).

Currently, 48 people are being treated for Covid at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and one patient is in a ventilation bed.

Unfortunately, there is no further breakdown between the two hospitals – Bedford and Luton & Dunstable.
