TUI Airways is donating on-board food and drink to hospitals and charities in Bedfordshire during the coronavirus pandemic.

When operations were temporarily grounded last week the Inflight Services team took action to ensure the food and drink that would have been served on upcoming flights was re-distributed to those who need it most.

The team is organising the donation of over 185,000 snacks and drinks to a variety of hospitals and charity projects, including Luton and Dunstable Hospital and Bedford North and South Hospitals.

Items include cans of Red Bull and Diet Coke, hot chocolate and cappuccino sachets, cakes and chocolate treats.

Dawn Wilson, Managing Director of TUI Airways, said: “We are delighted we can make this small gesture to our wonderful NHS.

"Whilst our crew are not flying they are happy to be able to join the national volunteering efforts supporting frontline workers and whilst our planes are grounded it’s wonderful we can ensure our on-board food and drink goes to good use.”
