Preview of UK festival comes to top comedy club

Two comedians who are performing at the Edinburgh Festival will be bringing their new shows to Biggleswade before the festival.

Castle Comedy at George’s Hall Bar and Grill will see Paul Sinha and John Hastings perform their hour-long show on Monday July 6.

Paul Sinha is a critically-acclaimed stand-up comedian and professional quizzer. He is best known for his starring role in ITV1’s The Chase, where he regularly chases down opponents in his guise as ‘The Sinnerman’.

He was nominated for a Perrier Award at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival and won Chortle’s Best Club Comic in 2014. He has appeared doing stand up on Comedy Central’s The Alternative Comedy Experience and is a regular on Radio 4’s News Quiz, Just a Minute, and The Now Show and has registered several victories on Radio 5 Live’s feisty weekly sports panel show, Just a Minute.

Also performing is John Hastings, a Canadian comic on a mission. In the last year he has gained numerous rave reviews and appeared on BBC3’s Sean Walsh’s Late Night Comedy Spectacular. This is his new show where John examines his relationship with his family. After years of being protected from any sort of responsibility he recently became his nephew’s godfather. He reveals how this brought him and his father closer together, and he tells why the NHS isn’t really that bad.

The show runs for 2hrs 25 minutes with a single 25 minute interval. Doors open 6.30pm, It starts at 8pm and tickets are £8 (£6 NUS).
