The choirs will combine to sing Rheinberger’s Mass in Eb for double choir, and sing separately music by Paul Edwards, Hubert Parry, Mendelssohn and Bruckner.

East Bedfordshire Chamber Choir (EBCC) was formed in September 2013 as a continuation of the success of East Bedfordshire Youth Choir - conducted by Karen Beer - to give young adults a chance to continue singing after leaving the youth choir.

The age range of EBCC is perhaps the widest of any local choir, as experienced singers from other choirs have also joined to add their voices to the younger ones. The choir’s aim is to provide high quality choral music to the local community, with a range of styles from renaissance and baroque to jazz, gospel and modern works. All members are auditioned.

To date, the choir has performed to great acclaim in Sandy, Ashwell, Langford and Campton and has a full programme of concerts in 2014/15. Follow EBCC on Facebook, Twitter and email us on [email protected] for information about future performances.

David Beer trained as a pianist and conductor, specializing in choral and orchestral conducting, and after a brief career in teaching, forged a full-time career in theatre, TV and film. He has conducted many West End shows and UK and international tours including Cats, Me and My Girl, We Will Rock You, Guys and Dolls, Hello Dolly, Jesus Christ Superstar, Aspects of Love, Joseph and Fame and recorded 3 Original Cast Albums. He has made many radio and TV appearances.

He is a prolific musical arranger, a vocal coach at many leading drama colleges, an adjudicator for music festivals and an examiner for London College of Music. He was recently awarded an FLCM for professional achievement.

David retired from full time conducting in 2010 to settle in Bedfordshire where he teaches singing and piano. He previously conducted Locrian Chamber Choir for two seasons and is deputy conductor and deputy accompanist of Biggleswade Choral Society.

Tickets are £7.50, student and children concessions £5, from 01234 340163 or at the door, with proceeds for St Paul’s Church.
