The Not Guilty App an online business is changing the way you now find a lawyer

This is clarity, this is empowerment, and this is the future of finding the right lawyer.

A Bedford lawyer Selina Singh together with her husband, Maninder Singh is introducing the  community of Bedford and surrounding areas to the Not Guilty App as a running online business. This platform (App) available on IOS and Android was built from over 10 years of working in law and seeing first-hand how the system really operates. The company notes how in many firms, cases are often passed to whoever is available at the time and the reality is, law firms are businesses, so naturally they prioritise that. But that doesn’t always mean the client is getting the right lawyer for their specific needs. Time and time again, she came across cases being adjourned because clients couldn’t get hold of their lawyer for days, or because they were unhappy and wanted to change representation, further delaying the court process and adding to an already strained system. Imagine having the right person by your side from the very start.

She has also been lucky enough to be thrown in the deep end from the very early start of her career, where she had the opportunity to observe legal professionals in action side by side to see how they advocate, how they perform under pressure, and the clear differences in skill that simply cannot be captured on paper. That insight is what sets this platform apart. Every lawyer on Not Guilty is carefully reviewed, approved, and selected, not just based on what they say about themselves, but on genuine credibility and capability. We are not driven by chatbots, algorithms, or AI trying to “match” you, because the reality is, AI hasn’t stood in court, it hasn’t seen advocacy, and it relies on written profiles that anyone can make sound impressive. That kind of “matching” is, quite simply, lazy.

Not Guilty is built by real people who understand real situations, carefully designed and crafted in design over the last 2 years, ensuring you are connected to the right lawyer for your case. We focus on early engagement and pre-case preparation, because that very first communication sets the foundation for the entire case and if it’s wrong from the start, it can quickly spiral out of control.

Even at police stations, you are typically assigned a duty solicitor or a representative without any real choice of who unless you know of who to ask for by name, a ancient system, outdated, stuck with a one size fits all. Where is the client’s autonomy in that? We are changing that. No more endless Googling, no more scrolling through directories, no more being told to “seek legal advice” without knowing where to go next.

This platform is two fold it assists lawyers too by connecting them with the right clients from the outset, allowing them to focus on cases that align with their expertise while building stronger, more effective client relationships from day one.

This is clarity, this is empowerment, and this is the future of finding the right lawyer. So if you were in a difficult situation — how would you find a lawyer?

In parallel to the online business, there are plans underway for a Not Guilty Law Hub to be launching in Bedford in the near future. This will be designed as a modern, community-based access point to legal services, bridging the gap between the public and the right legal representation at the earliest possible stage. More than just a physical space, the Hub will operate as a professionally managed, walk-in environment where individuals can be guided towards suitable, regulated lawyers through the Not Guilty platform. Using secure, in-house digital systems, users will be able to submit details of their situation and be matched with lawyers based on their specific case type, needs, and circumstances.

The Hub will also aim to provide a professional workspace for lawyers and aspiring legal professionals together with students alongside educational support, workshops, career guidance in to law and community engagement initiatives with lawyer led programmes with some of the most respected members of the profession giving an insight into the real legal world. With a premium, welcoming design and a focus on autonomy, early engagement, and informed choice, the Not Guilty Law Hub will represent a shift towards a more transparent, accessible, and user-led legal system something that Bedford has never had before.

This year the business is taking part in the Bedford river festival this July and exhibiting at the Big Business Show at London Excel this November.
