A new season of comedy has been announced for the Castle Comedy in Biggleswade held at George’s Hall Bar & Grill.
One of the hottest female comics around Zoe Lyons will be the first to appear in the new season on Monday April 4.
She has recently starred on The John Bishop Show (BBC1) and Live At The Apollo (BBC2) plus been voted by her fellow comedians as the Best Club act in the UK.
With a mixture of silliness, satire and caustic one liners she is one of the one of the UK’s favourite comedians. She has also appeared on BBC One’s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow Mock The Week on BBC2 Dave’s One Night Stand and The Wright Stuff on FIVE.
The other show to be announced is on Monday May 2 and rounding off the Bank Holiday weekend is Live At The Apollo star Nathan Caton. His charismatic and laidback style of stand up has seen him quickly establish himself on the comedy circuit.
He is regarded as one of the best young comics in the UK Nathan’s award-winning combination of personal and topical anecdotes has lead to appearances on BBC1’s Live At The Apollo, BBC2’s Mock The Week and BBC3’s Russell Howard’s Good News. BBC Radio 4’s Now Show, News Quiz and his own BBC Radio 4 sitcom Can’t Tell Nathan Caton Nothing.
Since it’s launch in October 2014 the comedy club has been a run away success, often selling out months in advance. The packed audiences have had a ball.
A key to the clubs success is the ability of comedian and promoter, Paul Revill being able to attract some of the best stand up comics in the UK to visit Biggleswade.
Previous headline acts include Henning Wehn, Bob Mills, Hal Cruttenden and Katherine Ryan with all of them saying how much they liked the club. The audiences clearly loved seeing them!
The shows sell out quickly and people are urged to book quickly. Doors open 7.30pm and the shows start at 8pm. Tickets are £8 (£6 NUS) or £18 including a pre show meal and glass of wine from the George’s Hall Bar & Grill. To book visit www.castlecomedy.co.uk
