Forest Folk and Roots presents The Gerry Colvin Band with support from Rhys Kirkman at The College Arms in Cranfield on Thursday, June 18.

Fresh from his nationwide support slots for Status Quo with Terry and Gerry, Gerry Colvin brings his “other” band to Cranfield and will be playing a mix of acoustic roots and jazz infused songs from both his extensive back catalogue and his new album.

Phil Beer of folk duo Show of Hands said: “Gerry Colvin is a writer of great substance. This man is unique and unforgettable. The songs are brilliant. He should be a household name.”

Support comes from Rhys Kirkman. Originally from Arlesey, Bedfordshire, Rhys has been playing in bands since he was 10. Heavily inspired by Frank Turner and the Stereophonics, his autobiographical lyrics portray life with honesty, raw feeling and emotion. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are £10 (£8 for students) and are available by calling 01234 751586.
